Multnomah County and a General Electric subsidiary each want land at the Port's Rivergate Industrial District. The county wants 18 acres to house criminals in a new jail. The General Electric subsidiary wants 9.25 acres for the storage of modular office trailers.
The Port is asking $4.6 million for the land the county wants, and $1.8 million for the land the GE company wants. Bill Bach tells GlobeSt.com that the GE company deal should close next week.
In the third deal, Riverscape LLC wants 15.59 acres for residential and office projects. The Port wants $7.6 million for the property, but has some costs in the deal, including soil remediation. Bach says the deal won't close for a few months.
