The new hotel has a restaurant and lounge, indoor pool, exercise facilities, meeting space and a business center. Guest rooms include high-speed Internet access, two telephones and a dataport for modem connection. The Northwestern University/Evanston Research Center is home to 90 companies as well as a proposed mixed-use development that eventually will include 120,000 sf of retail space.
"This is the 48th Winston hotel we manage and/or lease, " says Paul W. Whetsell, MeriStar chairman and chief executive officer. "We manage five additional properties in the Chicagoland area, and we expect to optimize the Hilton Garden Inn's revenues and profits by taking advantage of cross-marketing opportunities and operating synergies."
