Hazard Construction Co. has been awarded the paving contract on an 11.3-mile-long section of the freeway from Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa to Lake Jennings Park Road in El Cajon.
The company is the managing partner of the $9.2 million project in a joint venture with Ohio-based Pavement Specialists.
The California Department of Transportation is developing the project. Construction is scheduled for completion by March 2002.
