Famous Footwear is plotting a 12,000-sf retail site at Trammell Crow Co.'s under-construction Northwest Marketplace, situated on the north side of Northwest Freeway just west of W. Tidwell. The 270,000-sf development has signed tenants such as Ross, PetsMart, Office Depot and Old Navy. The project will deliver in the fourth quarter and is owned in conjunction with Granite Properties, according to a Trammell Crow contact.
Trammell Crow has used in-house broker Matt Keener represented for the lease negotiations. Smith says Boyd Page has represented Famous Footwear in acquiring virtually all of its retail space in Houston in deals that he cut as well as principal Edward F. Page. The retailer has 20 stores in Houston and 93 nationwide. Famous Footwear's concept store is a superstore that requires upward of 10,000 sf. The other Houston-area superstores are in the communities of Copperfield, Portafino and Pasadena, where construction is under way on that retail site.
