The development will also have a parking garage that will accommodate up to 555 vehicles. The top level of the garage will have basketball and tennis courts.
A spokeswoman for JPI declined to place a value on the development.
In a statement, the developer said it maintains an investment partnership with GE Capital to do multifamily housing nationwide.
Over the past year, JPI has broken ground on more than 9,000 new apartment homes, and has been active in the acquisition of several apartment communities.Jefferson at Carlyle Mill is a part of a larger development near the Eisenhower Metro light rail station. It includes a multi-screen AMC theatre, several million square feet of office space with tenants such as the US Patent and Trade Office and luxury high-rise condominiums.
