"I think it's great," Michael Walsh, owner and operator of the Acoustic Cafe, tells GlobeSt.com about the Hard Rock. "It could mark a real turnaround for Sixth Street."The Acoustic Cafe, as its name says, will offer music of the unplugged variety in 5,527 sf of retail space in the historic Hannig Row building. Walsh plans for local and national acts to appear. He mentioned Austin's Monte Montgomery and Bob Schneider as possible acts.

The restaurant, which Walsh says will be moderately upscale, will offer a variety of menu items, but the house specialty will be pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. The cafe will be non-smoking, a rarity on Sixth Street. Brett Arabie and Spencer Hayes of Colliers Oxford Commercial represented the building's owner, Hannig Row Partnership and the Acoustic Cafe represented itself.
