The Lowe's, part of a 600,000-sf retail center at the intersection, sits across the street from a Home Depot store, its arch rival based in Atlanta. The Lowe's store is part of the company's $2-billion expansion. It plans another at the southwest corner of Austin Highway and Harry Wurzbach Road in the northeast San Antonio submarket that is expected to open in spring 2003. That would be the fifth Lowe's store in San Antonio in its 51-location Texas portfolio. In Kerrville, 64 miles northwest of San Antonio, Lowe's plans to open at 15,000-sf store in spring 2002.
