The state is providing worker training grants, and the company likely will seek credits through the Economic Development for a Growing Economy program. Locally, incentives from the Plainfield school system, village of Plainfield and Will County Center for Economic Development helped lure another 80 jobs to the plant.
"The new facility also illustrates how technology is being applied across all industry sectors in Illinois - in this case using new technology to integrate a centuries-old brewing process with the most modern of packaging techniques," says DCCA Director Pam McDonough, who recently spent six days in Ireland on a trade mission.
Parent company Diageo plc's product line includes Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Tanqueray, Guinness, J&B, Baileys, Malibu and Cuervo. The company is the product of a 1997 merger of Guinness and GrandMet.
