The academy, acquired by Career Education Corp., will add the well-respected Le Cordon Bleu program to its offerings when it moves. The Le Cordon Bleu program is expected to attract more students to the Austin-based culinary school.
Career Education, based in Hoffman Estates, IL bought the culinary academy this summer for an undisclosed sum. Career Education operates cooking schools in other states and provides a range of post-secondary educational services.
The Texas Culinary Academy, founded in 1986, will move from its current location at 6020 Dillard Dr. in northeast Austin. Its new home is the 103,247-sf building 2 at the Domain, the 235-acre complex that was developed by IBM Corp. The Endeavor Group, an Austin-based real estate company, now owns the site.
