Mark Davis, vice president of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co.'s Houston retail division, negotiated the lease on behalf of building owner, Granite Properties of Dallas. Dean Lane of Boyd Page and Associates in Houston, acted on the tenant's behalf.
Pioneer of the popular "Ross Dress For Less" stores, Ross is a discount retailer with 409 stores in 17 states. Ross currently has 69 locations in Texas, about 10 of which are in Houston. Other tenants at the Northwest Marketplace Shopping Center include Office Depot, Old Navy, Famous Footwear and PetsMart.
Midyear reports from Dallas-based The Weitzman Group had Houston's retail market showing steady growth. According to the report, the midyear occupancy rate was just under 90% in comparison to 88% at year-end 2000.
