Lynwood Mayor Russell Melby has promised to discuss potential financial incentives for the buyer, says Sheldon Good & Co. broker associate Barry Holtzer. The property, vacant since the bankruptcy of its tenant, already benefits from a location across the street from a proposed 39-acre sports and exposition center being built with Illinois FIRST money.
Sheldon Good & Co. Auctions LLC is conducting the sealed-bid auction of the building, constructed in 1991 on a 6.5-acre site. There is about 4,000 sf of office space in the one-story building, just off the Calumet Expressway.
"The building is the best of its kind in the area," Holtzer says. "The facility is located on a frontage road to the expressway, just off an exit, and is ideal for warehousing or light-manufacturing uses."
