Previously, he spent three years in acquisitions at Hartman Management, where he bought office warehouses and shopping centers. After working with Hartman Management, Maroney spent one year at Herb Shapiro and Associates, where he closed several shopping center deals.

At Henry S. Miller, Maroney will work with Shawn Ackerman in the retail division handling investment sales and retail leasing. Maroney believes development is still alive in the current retail market.

"It looks like it is going to be a bright 2002," he says, but warns that not enough indicators have been read to truly access the future of the retail market. "We just really don't know for sure yet," says Maroney of the retail market.

Maroney is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
