Long served as city council member from 1988 to 1994. He has also been a commissioner of the St. Paul Port Authority, a member of the St. Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority (now RiverCentre Authority) and president of the League of Minnesota Cities and the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities.
Welsh is based in Eden Prairie with offices in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Columbus OH.
