DETROIT-The 36th District Courthouse is too close to the new $300-million Ford Field, itself on schedule to open in time for the 2002 season, and will likely get caught up in a wave of redevelopment, local officials and brokers say.
The county plans to build a new courthouse near I-75 and Lafayette.
The 36th District Court, originally part of the Hudsons' warehouse complex, will likely be redeveloped into residential or office lofts, local commercial real estate professionals say.
