The deal was sealed after an intense six-month process of scrutinizing proposals, Kelly Winn, Studley's managing director in Dallas, tells GlobeSt.com. Under the pact, the GSA can handle its own real estate matters or elect one of three vendors to assist in the full gamut of needs. The 700 leases are for offices, garages, warehouse, laboratories and courts. Two firms in Boston and Houston received similar contracts for the southwest region.
Greg Biggs, senior vice president and manager for Studley in Dallas, will direct the project. Winn will serve as project coordinator. David Lipson, Studley's managing director in Washington, DC and Kilpatrick Stockton's Neil Levy and Rick Barnett are taking on the roles of senior advisers.
Winn says it's hard to put the square footage represented in the 700 leases. The good news is, she says, "we have the opportunity to work on their behalf for the next five years.
