The two projects are among eleven projects the Metropolitan Council approved at meetings today and last month in the most recent round of funding awards for polluted site clean-up and redevelopment. The grant awards total $2.65 million dollars for clean-up projects in Champlin, Hastings and Osseo.

The grants represent a relatively modest investment, helping restore confidence in older, fully developed communities and jumpstart private investment, says Metropolitan Council Chair Ted Mondale. The program has spent nearly $37 million in clean-up dollars into a total private investment of more than $1.2 billion and the clean up of more than 700 acres of polluted property.

Requests for funding totaled more than $7 million this funding round, with 14 projects competing for the $2.65 million available.
