Michael Joyce, a Principal with Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, who represented Standard Life in the negotiations, says in a released statement, "After a detailed analysis of the Boston office market, and a thorough assessment of Standard Life's needs, we determined that One Beacon Street would provide Standard Life Investments with a high profile location in a major U.S. city that would also be recognizable to its international clients."

Among the building's other tenants are Tucker Anthony, Berkshire Investments, Keyspan and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. In the released statement Peter Hill, President of Standard Life Investments, says that this location will offer his company " a great deal of exposure as we enter the US market."

Standard Life Investments is responsible for investing funds on behalf of over five million retail and institutional clients. The company also provides global coverage of investment instruments and markets.
