Heraeus will move into the extra space April 1. It is taking more than half of a warehouse and distribution building at 280 N. Roosevelt Ave. In the fall, EastGroup Properties of Jackson, MS, bought the structure for more than $3.6 million from San Francisco-based Panattoni Development and immediately started to court tenants. Three months ago, Sound Packaging moved into 27,300 sf, Paul Sieczkowski, Colliers International senior vice president of industrial in Phoenix, tells GlobeSt.com. Panattoni delivered the 5.78-acre holding to market in January 2001.
Southpark Industrial is a favorite landing spot for higher-end office and manufacturing locations. Heraeus, a silica glass and fabricated-fused quartz supplier, uses part of its leased sites for a regional headquarters, in keeping with other tenants' property uses. Sieczkowski and Colliers' marketing associate Rob Martenson represented EastGroup and Heraeus in the long-term lease.
