The 243-bed hospital--which is over a century old--is a member of CareGroup, which has a number of other local hospitals in its group, including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and New England Medical Center, both in Boston; Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge; Deaconess-Glover Hospital in Needham; and, Deaconess-Nashoba Hospital in Ayer. Beth Israel Deaconess, the group flagship hospital, has also been facing a financial struggle recently.
