The largest deal is the 73,900-sf renewal inked by the City of Dallas for 4120 Scottsdale, where the Dallas Water Department had had its construction headquarters for the past seven years. Dan Cook of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc.'s Dallas office represented Encomp, the investment group that owns the property, in the signing.
The C&W team of Daryl Mullin, Jon White and Lawrence Gardner brokered a new lease for Uptown's 2725 Turtle Creek, which has Republic Underwriters Insurance Co. as its lead tenant. United American Reporting Services has taken 7,914 sf of Republic's space. The new tenant provides legal reporting services, including videotaped depositions, court reporting, translation and transcripts.
In another Dallas signing, T. Boone Pickens has taken an extra 1,228 sf at the 6,567-sf Preston Road headquarters of his BP Capital/Mesa Petroleum. Jerry Averyt of Henry S. Miller Commercial in Dallas represented Pickens. Building owner Equity Office Properties used it in-house representative, Jessie O'Brien, to broker the deal for Preston Commons West Tower at 8117 Preston Rd. in the city's northern submarket.
