While the substation will serve an increasing Downtown, River North and West Loop residential demand, the utility is working with "Friends of the River."
"With the recent residential boom in the city of Chicago, there has been an increased strain on ComEd's resources," says Inland Real Estate Sales senior associate Alexander Cue, who represented the seller, Richard Lissner, along with Joe Esselman. "This substation provides a win-win solution: Providing the city with additional electrical power, while improving the esthetics of the riverbank."
Michael Senner of Colliers, Bennett & Kahnweiler represented Commonwealth Edison.
