The NTC is a three-year, graduate acting program formed by the Denver Center Theatre Co. and the American National Theatre and Academy.
The $1-million donation is the largest single gift ever made to the DCPA. In addition, one of Jones' online education companies -- Jones e-global library -- will donate an additional $50,000 for the expansion of the NTC's library.
The Tramway building is directly across from the Denver Performing Arts Complex at 13th and Arapahoe streets. It was purchased by the DCPA from the University of Colorado-Denver in 1999.
The DCPA includes a 200-seat facility known as the Source.
''In recognition of Glenn Jones' generosity, the Source Theatre will be renamed (as) the 'Jones Theatre,'' says Donald R. Seawell, DCPA founder and chairman. ''It will serve as a symbol of our abiding appreciation and that of the countless students who will benefit from his philanthropy.''
