The optimistic prediction for the 112,000-sf Uptown Center comes at a time when the market is seeing some signs of life. Jim Yoder, senior vice president of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co., tells GlobeSt.com that talks are under way with prospects, but nothing as yet is "imminent." Still, he believes the premier property at 2626 Howell St. will find the tenants that it needs.

Uptown Center is a holding of City Center Inc., a locally based real estate development, management and investment company led by the Carrozza family of Dallas. Its holdings include top-of-the-line developments in Dallas and Oklahoma City. The owner previously was handling the leasing, according to Yoder.

Uptown Center is best recognizable for its ground-floor restaurant, the Tin Star. "It's a 10-star restaurant," Yoder says as he talks about the tenant mix. Republic Title of Texas Inc. and the firm of Lane Gorman & Trubitt LLP and CPA are the building's anchors.

Yoder's optimism, in part, lies in his reputation. The 16-year veteran joined Trammell Crow in August 2001 and is a well-known, regular "heavy hitter" in the Dallas region. His newest challenge is situated in the heart of Uptown and adjacent to the Quadrangle.
