It is one of the largest signings to close this year in metro Phoenix. And, as the region knows full well, the Camelback Corridor is the heart of class A office space, the hardest hit sector in most metro areas of the nation.

Michael Beall of Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona Inc. tells GlobeSt.com that NDC considered relocation to North Phoenix-Scottsdale, but ultimately decided the Camelback Corridor offered the best labor pool and amenities, from a high parking ratio to good signexposure on 24th and Camelback Road.

NDC Health is the world's largest multi-segment health information services company. It supports more than 90% of the of the nation's pharmacies, over 20% of the hospitals and more than 180,000 physicians. The firm processes about two billion health-care transactions per year. NDC has approximately 500 employees in its Phoenix offices.

Beall represented NDC while Mark McLoone of Pacific Realty Advisors handled talks for the building owner, Lend Lease Real Estate Investments. The renewal is for a 135,000-sf building, one of three in the Biltmore Financial Center.

Beall says the Camelback Corridor took some big hits when several large tenants including American Express relocated. "The market is suffering like the rest of the economy," says Beall of the Camelback Corridor. But, he quickly points out, NDC's decision has a lot of property owners breathing easier.
