The developer is Q Prime, a New York entertainment management company that plans to book concerts in the facility. The county and Q Prime are still working on a detailed agreement, expected in April, that will spell out the ground lease and development specifics. A public hearing with regard to the lease will likely be held, though it is not required.
The amphitheater project has spent time in front of Clark County Superior Court and the Washington Court of Appeals before prevailing in state Supreme Court. The project's main opponent is Stop the Amphitheater Today, a coalition of would-be neighbors who have fought the project for more than a few years. Their main issue is the potential noise, and they may yet create more obstacles. The group has said it is considering suing Q Prime and the county for losses in their property values that may occur as a result of the new facility.
