The Broward County Circuit Court lawsuit alleges Premier misrepresented a 2.6-acre oceanfront estate in the exclusive Hillsborough Mile community north of Fort Lauderdale and 25 miles north of Downtown Miami. The complaint alleges Premier intentionally advertised the property as four acres in the $10.5 million sale.
Premier executive Gerard Liguori tells GlobeSt.com that although his company hasn't been served with a copy of the suit, trial testimony will show "the allegations are false." Premier's Fort Lauderdale attorney Jennifer Anderson of Marlowe Connell tells GlobeSt.com, "We've seen an outline of the charges and we dispute the allegations."
Jacobson Trust's lawyer, Byron G. Petersen, a partner in Petersen & Hawthorne, Fort Lauderdale, tells GlobeSt.com "extensive discovery has been propounded directly to Sotheby's as part of our ongoing investigation." Petersen says "this may result in Sotheby's itself being added to the complaint."
Premier promotes itself worldwide as 'broker to the stars.' Sotheby's operates Sotheby's International Realty with 175 international affiliates. Broward Circuit Judge Estella Moriarity has been assigned to the case.
