The report shows that employment in London will rise sharply by 2016 with more than 400,000 additional jobs in business services. And it warns that without investment, this will intensify rising office costs in London which is already the most expensive in the world.
Mayor Ken Livingstone said: 'These figures show that London's growth is by far the biggest regional issue in the UK. Population and employment growth on this scale demonstrates London's success and is good news for London's economic and social vitality, and for the wider UK economy. But without an adequate policy response it will inevitably put pressure on housing, the environment, transport infrastructure and other public services already under pressure.'
