In a statement Haslemere said it had become aware of a press release apparently issued by two companies named Evia Real Estate and Vastgoedcomfort announcing that they intend to make a bid at €67 per share. This compares with Brack's agreed offer of €63.75 per share. But Haslemere said the only contact it has had with the new bidders is through an email received on 18 March.
Under the rules of the EuroNext stock exchange--where Haslemere has its primary listing--the bidder has to make the terms of its offer clear to the target company before going public. And because this process has not been followed, Haslemere said it regarded the approach as invalid and was continuing talks with Brack with a view to releasing a formal offer document before the end of March.
