Sue McCusker, assistant to the town manager, tells GlobeSt.com that the farm is currently zoned for agricultural use and the town will not consider any proposals to develop the site. "The town has every intention of keeping it as a farm," she says.
McCusker notes that so far there have been three parties that indicated their interest in the property: Soule Homestead Education Center, Lavender Fields Center for Agricultural Education, and Quincy, Massachusetts-based Philip Bohan. While the first two parties have indicated they will use the land for educational and agricultural use, McClusker says that Bohan has not yet stated what his interest in the farm is.
