Miami-Based Firm Now Dallas-Based

Dallas' central location to Isotag Inc.'s business hubs was one of the precipitating factors for the headquarters relocation. The other, Isotag's Kent Mansfield tells GlobeSt.com, is that most of its management already live in Dallas-Fort Worth. The winner of the site search is Addison Tech Center, a four-building, 228,000-sf complex owned by First Industrial Trust.

The firm is lined up to occupy the flex space at 4355 Excel Parkway in May. Isotag started its headquarters relocation in 2001, but is now gearing up to shut down a production plant in the Houston suburb of Tomball and bring the lab under the same roof as the headquarters. Offices will be retained in Los Alamos and Miami, Mansfield says.

Addison Tech Center is now 55% leased, but will be hitting 80% in the coming weeks, says Daryl Mullin, director of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. He, senior director Thomas O. Pearson and associate directors Lizzy Pappachen and Lawrence Gardner brokered the lease for the building owner. The Trammell Crow Co.'s Dallas team of senior vice presidents Steve Zimmerman and John Woolsey, vice president Cara Arnold and associates Rebekah Childers and Brooke Boulden represented Isotag in the negotiations for a 10-year lease. Zimmerman says Isotag adds nearly 10,000 sf to its operation with the Addison Tech Center space, new product that offers "a nice combination" to meet the firm's needs.

Isotag was founded in 1995 by two Texas oilmen who had patented the commercial application of covert identification processes developed by scientists at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Isotag is now considered an emerging global leader of technology tracking, using one-of-a-kind markers or tags to aid in blocking product piracy and counterfeiting. It also is evolving as an investigative tool for the security industry.
