The proposal is to rezone the property from residential and commercial to a planned development zoning. The developer also plans to construct more attached condos and single-family homes in the area surrounding the land proposed to be rezoned.

As part of the proposal, the city would sell land to the company for $663,000.

Plans include 13 three-story townhouses with attached garages, and 74 units of apartment-style condos on the former site of Keating School. Fourteen single-family homes would be built on the west side of Emerson Street.

The multifamily homes would cost from $160,000 to $200,000, and the single-family homes would cost $170,000 to $290,000.

Concerns about the proposal including a lack of parking areas, the small size of the units and the high cost of the homes in an urban development area.

The commission took the matter under advisement.
