The contrast between the tower's goldish-orange roof and Astronaut White legs--combined withthe Landmark's height and space-age design--made it one of the most photographed attractions of the World's Fair. It was to offer a sneak preview into "Century 21."
Painting begins today and, weather permitting, will be finished by March 31. At the end of April, the roof will be restored to its more well-known white color.
