DENVER-It takes 257 pounds of dynamite, set off in a series of two explosions, to level the 15-story, 108,000-sf office building the city bought for $15 million after filing a condemnation suit.
Two hundred and fifty seven pounds of dynamite was carefully packed along support columns on five floors. After two sets of explosions, onlookers cheered and clapped as the building collapsed, leaving behind a seven-story pile of debris that will take a month to clear.
