Yamasaki has moved to Henry S. Miller after spending five years with Houston's Senterra Real Estate Group as senior vice president of acquisitions. At Senterra, he represented Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities Co. in the acquisition of Houston Center and 1800 West Loop South. Yamasaki also worked with Credit Suisse First Boston, Grubb & Ellis Co. and Fuller Commercial Brokerage Co. Yamasaki tells GlobeSt.com he has handled approximately $450 million in transactions. He has disposed and acquired offices, shops and hotels and represented clients such as Prudential and Citigroup.

Yamasaki says now is the time for buyers to look at office building acquisitions. He says such transactions have been slow, but he fully expects activity to resume in the third and fourth quarters. He also believes valuation problems between buyers and sellers will begin to work at the same time. He sides with others in the industry in saying there is a lot of capital and equity on the sidelines right now. Houston, he believes, is well positioned to potentially receive a lot of the soon-to-be-placed investment dollars.
