The 2.17-acre site includes a three-story, 14,880-sf administration building at 1314 Ridge Ave., a 7,285-sf warehouse at 1311 Asbury Ave. and 5,500-sf food service building at at 1321 Asbury Ave. The administration building is a mansion built in 1915.

Steven L. Good, chairman and CEO of Sheldon Good & Co., foresees residential development as a likely use by the next owner, adding his belief it is the best site left in this lakefront suburb on Chicago's border.

"It's located near Downtown Evanston's shopping, entertainment and transportation, andwithin walking distance of the Northwestern University campus," says Good, whose firm is marketing the property and conducting the auction. "The auction presents a great opportunity to renovate the mansion and develop the adjacent land."

The auction begins at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1818 Maple Ave., in Evanston.

The property became available when the school district decided to build a new headquarters at Lake and McDaniel.
