In making the award--one of five doled out nationally--Energy secretary Spencer Abraham called the Durst project a "template for similar facilities," and said it adheres to goals "set by President Bush in the National Energy Plan of providing for a reliable energy infrastructure."

The NYCyberCenter, at West 57th Street, is being billed as the first-ever multi-tenant building with on-site, privately owned co-generation capabilities. The building will measure 1.3 million sf when all three phases are built out.
