The office complex is also winning recognition from the Miami-Dade county chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association which ranked Datran No. 1 in the renovated building category. Datran beat out five rival buildings for the honors.
Starting in 1999, Crescent put $500,000 into new cooling towers and chillers; $359,000 in new restrooms; $342,000 in upgrading the fire alarm and security systems; and $322,000 in refurbishing the corridors and common maintenance areas. Other improvements, including new signage, were made throughout the two structures and on the grounds.
The general contracting team was comprised of Rothstar Construction Co., Trane, RSI Roofing and SunCoast Construction. One Datran was built in 1986; Two Datran in 1988. Average asking full-service rent is $21.50 per sf.
National tenants are Chase Manhattan Mortgage, Marriott, Mitsubishi, NBC, AXA Advisors, Morgan Stanley, American Express and the law firm of Stephens, Lynn, Klein, La Cava, Hoffman & Puya.
