Plans are a little sketchy, because they're in a conceptual stage, according to Armand Avakian, the project's architect, who heads Armand P. Avakian Associates of Ramsey, NJ. "We're working to create a very interesting environment," Avakian told the planning board earlier this week.
What's on the table at this point is a five-building complex developed in a Colonial style with plenty of landscaping in the form of fountains, benches, covered walkways and a pond. The project would include parking for just under 400 cars. No specific tenancies were discussed.
One issue raised by planning board members was accessibility on busy Route 34. For one thing, board members said they would like to see the project's traffic flow incorporate connecting access with the adjacent Colts Town Plaza. A public hearing is up next for the proposal, although no date has been announced.
