A selection committee will interview the four teams before choosing a master developer to draw up a plan for the site, now known as 108 N. State St. The short list was determined after the committee reviewed the qualifications of all 10 development teams. The final choice is expected this summer, a year after a $250-million mixed-use plan was nixed because of its design as well as inability to obtain financing for a hotel.
"From this shortened list, we will choose an experienced development team with the skills, resources and commitment needed to successfully develop this important Downtown site," says department of planning and development commissioner Alicia Berg.
