"This project is an outstanding example of combining state and local resources and private development interests to create a showcase project that serving as the anchor to our downtown's revitalization," says Todd Battle, president of the First group.
The renovation of the 185,000-sf building will cost $16 million. State and local agencies contributed to create a tax-free development area for the site.
The crew in charge of the renovation is Gough and Gough Inc. of Valparaiso, IN, along with Trinity Non-Profit Housing Corp. of Muskegon. The building is on the National Historic Register.
