The conference will feature more than 25 sessions with authors, researchers and governing officials. These sessions include organization development, professional advancement, urban and rural development, and legislative issues. The event will be held September 22 - 25 at the Oakland Marriott City Center.

IEDC was created by the recent merger of The Council for Urban Economic Development and the American Economic Development Council, the oldest economic development membership association in the United States. The combined membership includes 4,000 economic development professionals.

IEDC provides information to its members who build local economies through tools used to create, attract, and retain jobs. IEDC also manages the National Association of Installation Developers, which is involved with the redevelopment of closing military bases and serving the needs of communities with active-duty military bases in public private partnerships and privatization of military infrastructure.
