Marathon Coach Inc., headquartered in Coburg, has opened its first Texas location with the acquisition. In addition to its homeport, Marathon also maintains a similar repair and sales site in Florida for the vehicles, which range in price from $800,000 to $1.2 million.
The 16-year-old building is situated on four acres at 1175 Post & Paddock Rd. Thomas Clarke of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Dallas office brokered the deal for Marathon Coach. Allen Gump, senior managing director for Kennedy-Wilson International in Dallas, represented the building owner, Rollins Leasing LLC.
Clarke tells GlobeSt.com that his client spent a year reviewing sites in Dallas-Fort Worth before deciding which one to buy. The Grand Prairie location affords easy access to US Highway 360 and Texas 183, but more importantly, the DFW International Airport. That, said Clarke, was key to the decision because it represents a readily identifiable landmark for customers.
