"Our business depends on providing our guests with the best services possible," John Caparella, general manager, Gaylord Palms, says in a prepared statement. "Offering them high-speed Internet access is an absolute necessity."

The Internet connections were made over Gaylord Palms' 65-acre tract which sits on Xentury City Development Co.'s 400-acre spread bounded by south International Drive, Osceola Parkway and Central Florida Greenway, 20 miles south of Downtown Orlando.

Besides the guest rooms, the connections are also in the 50 meeting rooms comprising the hotel's 400,000 sf of convention and meeting space.

The technology is through Cisco Systems' Ethernet ports. Unisys is a Cisco global support partner. Unisys has installed comparable systems at 400 hotels in the past five years, the company says in a prepared statement.
