When completed, this plant will crush approximately 110,000 bushels per day.
Todd & Sargent is the design/build general contractor and was one of only five contractors nationally with the capabilities and experience to bid on this complexconstruction project, Harvest States says. The firm has previously served as general contractor for Harvest States' processing plant projects in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Harvest States says good weather conditions are keeping the project ahead of schedule. As of mid-April, more than 1,000 cubic yards of concrete have been poured for foundations of the prep building and silo. The final detailed layout design is 95%complete.
About $15 million in contract work has been awarded to a variety of subcontractors in the regional including:
* Karges-Faulconbridge Inc. and Buetow & Associates, both of St. Paul, MN, for handling detail design and engineering.
* The Bosshardt Co of Truman, MN, for ready-mix concrete.
* Crown Iron Works of Roseville, MN, for process engineering equipment.
* Hodgman of Fairmont, MN, for asphalt paving.
* Industrial Fabrication Services, of Lake Crystal, MN, for equipment and fabrication.
* Sorenson Excavating of Albert Lea, MN, for site work and roadways.
* Weigh-tronics of Fairmont for scale equipment.
* Wells Concrete of Wells, MN, for pre-cast concrete.
