"This was an expansion of a law firm out of Washington Harbor," Trammell Crow's Carden McGehee tells GlobeSt.com. The new space will serve as an addition to Foley's current digs at 3000 K Street, which is just around the corner from the Foundry. The attorneys will not occupy the building until July, as The National Academy of Sciences is still the tenant in the space.
Built in 1975, The Foundry is a seven-story building that has a current assessed value of about $32.1 million. McGehee says the building is currently about 92% occupied and next month, the space that was home to the structure's now-closed Cineplex Odeon movie theatre will be available for lease as office space.
