After growing primarily through acquisition, WorldTravel had various staffers nationwide overseeing 150 leases. The company wanted to streamline its real estate management side, Annette Beach, WorldTravel's vice president of real estate and procurement, says in a prepared statement.

WorldTravel BTI has 5,500 employees and 46 affiliate agencies nationwide. The company manages and leases 53 million sf of commercial space.

Trammell Crow has already placed an alliance director in its offices to run the real estate process around the country, James Kilberg, executive vice president of the brokerage, says in the same statement.

"We hope to do 10 to 15 leases a year, averaging 11,600 sf (per lease)," he says.Kilberg calls the contract with WorldTravel "a big win" for Crow.

Atlanta is the hub of TCC's Southeast market which includes Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and the Carolinas.

John Fentener van Vlissingen, a real estate investor, banker and travel industry professional based in The Netherlands, is founder, majority owner and chairman of 27-year-old WorldTravel BTI (Business Travel International).
