Birmingham, AL-based Regions Bank is building its sixth Austin-area branch at the site, 4200 W. Braker Lane. Called Regions Plaza, the 20,000-sf building will include the bank and space for other offices. The bank, which will have four drive-through lanes, is to be finished in the first quarter 2003. Regions has Austin branches along Well Branch Parkway, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto and Jonestown.
The overall development has 300,000 sf of office space and 300,000 sf of multifamily housing partially surrounding Quarry Lake. Riverside Resources, the property owner, is extending Stone Lake Boulevard into the site to connect parts of it that don't front on streets.
Jeremy Smitheal, a Riverside Resources partner, tells GlobeSt.com that there are six acres on the market that abut Regions property and another nine acres deeper in the property. Besides extending Stonelake, Riverside is putting in water quality and utility facilities, he says.
