The consulting team is nationally known. Development Design Group did Easton Town Center in Columbus, OH; Newport on the Levee, near Cincinnati, OH; Atlantic Station in Atlanta; and Cocowalk in Coconut Grove, FL.
Martin, Mantle and Bignon have worked on Pointe Orlando shopping center; Church Street Station, Downtown Orlando; and Atlanta Station, Atlanta. Staubach Co., a national brokerage, has a retail and office division in Orlando.
The eight-story, 227-room Embassy Suites Orlando North in the 1,375-acre central business district of Altamonte Springs will become part of the Town Center master plan developed jointly by the city of Altamonte Springs, Vlass and his longtime Atlanta developer colleague, James F. Jacoby.
City manager Phil Penland, a key player in developing 10-year-old Cranes Roost Park at Cranes Roost Lake, represents the city in the Town Center project.
The commercial/retail/entertainment/residential project is the most ambitious enterprise the Orlando suburb has attempted in 25 years.
