More than half of the some 200,000 book, music, DVD and periodical titles will be geared for the Downtown Minneapolis market. Just 50% of Borders' title base is common to all stores, while the other half is customized to the location by using the company's sophisticated computerized inventory system.
Borders, which is based in Ann Arbor, MI, says it selected the Minneapolis location based on demographics, traffic patterns, availability of parking and the attractiveness ofthe site.
