Originally built in 1906 by industrialist Henry Phipps, the renovation transformed the landmark Fulton building on the Allegheny River.

The 300-room luxury hotel includes a mosaic marble tile lobby and a 30-foot high glass gilded iron atrium. The copper-and-granite façade was preserved in the refurbishing.

''The hotel has been a dream projects,'' says Mike Murray, senior vice president of Sage. ''Not only is it a beauty, but it has operated well and profitably since its inception.''

Sage currently manages 96 full-service, boutique and limited service hotels in 30 states. Founded in 1984, the Sage portfolio include brands such as Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, Renaissance, TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn.
